The Mill to Host Community Event on September 29th

Howdy Folks: Sorry to be silent for so long but we have been hard at work over the summer. Here are a few highlights:

Fall Block Party – First off, we are having a Fall Block Party on Saturday September 29th from 1 – 4 pm. This is your chance to come and see the schematic designs for the building at the community plaza. We want to solicit your opinions on our designs and, most importantly, what you want to see at the Mill. We will provide stimulation with live music, a food truck from Rolling Smoke BBQ, beers from AC Golden/Native, and, of course, ice cream from Sweet Cow. We will also have activities for kids.

Stop bye, meet our team, and give us your input while having a beer. We are all about feet and bikes so we encourage you to arrive without your car. If you do arrive by car we will have parking at our building, at the CoorsTek parking lot at 10th and Ford, and next door at the Gold Office building. Look for our parking attendant on Water Street for guidance.

Look for folks with name tags as that will be our ownership group. We want to listen to your thoughts about the Mill.

We ask that you use the attached link to let us know your coming as we want to have plenty of food and beer for everyone. Here is the evite link to free tickets for the Golden Mill Fall Block Party.

Our Partners – Over the summer we have secured our partnership with the owners and operators of the Stanley Marketplace in Aurora www.stanleymarketplace.com. We are so pleased to have Mark Shaker and his experienced team join our team. Stanley has been a huge success but most importantly it has proven to be a community asset for so many folks and so many causes. Stanley Marketplace is the exact type of partner we desired and we have been working together side by side to plan the Mill, hire an architect, and keep the project moving forward. With their help we look forward to finding the best chefs and maximizing the potential of the building and the plaza.  Through this relationship we also have our restaurant consultant, Brad Arguello, our builder, Chris Haugen and White Construction Group, and facility and operations guru Corby Felsher.

The Mill Envisioned – With the help of our architect and plaza designers, Handprint Architecture and Livable Cities Studious, we have recently completed schematic design for the building and plaza. I don’t want to give those away just yet, but come to our block party to see how we intend to house 4 food vendors, coffee/ice cream, a self-pour beer, wine and cocktail system, two bars, an event space, roof top patio, and creek-side plaza in the historic Mill building and warehouse. I know, its a lot! Not only will the building be perfect mix of old and new, it will be a vibrant and dynamic place that we hope will keep you coming back over and over again.

Later this fall or winter, Mark Shaker will start announcing our chefs and food concepts. We are excited to make these announcements as we have an incredible  slate of interested chefs.  Similarly, we will start to evaluate the types of vendors that will be available on the plaza.

That’s it for now, thanks for your interest, and hope to see you soon.

Wes Ganter and the Mill Team.
